Join us at "Let's Talk About It" where we hold quarterly workshops to discuss the transition from puberty to womanhood and all things in between.

Let’s Talk About It! founded by Dr. Jessica White-Videa, Board-Certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting young girls as they transition from puberty to womanhood. Discover workshops, resources, and empowering conversations that build confidence, promote health, and break menstrual taboos.

Recap: Our Very First Workshop!

Saturday, March 8th, 2025

Northwest Medical Center Conference Room
Margate, FL

During our first workshop, we had the privilege of meeting moms and their daughters from near and far to teach them about the changes to expect during puberty and the path to womanhood.

The first session of the day was spent with 9-13 year-old group. Dr. White led us through a discussion on the stages of puberty, proper personal hygiene, and more. She also led the girls through a demonstration with props on how to properly apply a pad to underwear.

The second and final session (pictured) was spent teaching the group aged 14+. Dr. White delved into topics more fitting for these girls such as contraception, screening for and prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and more.

During both sessions, we had the honor of hosting psychotherapist and maternal mental health expert Natacha Dalberiste. She led us through a discussion on social media and its effects on mental health, and how to recognize the qualities of sustainable and healthy friendships.

The day was filled with fun and excitement! Above all, it was a privilege for Lets Talk About It! to meet more members of and to serve the community.

Our Mission

Reproductive health, menstrual health and hygiene

“Let’s Talk About It” aims to empower young girls. Our mission is to serve as a resource in South Florida where young girls (and mothers) can come together to talk about puberty and reproductive health. We hope to fill the void in education that is no longer being received in school or in some cases at home. We aim to decrease teen pregnancy and transmitted infection rates while increasing self awareness, self confidence and self determination with proper education and resources. Ultimately, we want to make sure young women have the support, resources and education to make the best decisions that will allow them to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.

Founding Story

Dr. Jessica White-Videa, Founder & Board-Certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist

As a young girl, I always had an interest in women’s health. My curiosity led to me, reading many books and educating myself about puberty and other things that I was experiencing at that time. Like most adolescents during that time period, my parents did not have an official “birds and the bees“ conversation with me.

However, my mother in true Caribbean/Panamanian fashion just emphatically advised me to make sure that “I did not get pregnant.” In my mother‘s defense she did encourage me to do one thing-be an advocate for myself. She told me that when the time was right that I needed to make sure that I was prepared. This meant going to the doctor by myself and asking for what I needed. Thus, I was forced to learn how to be an advocate for myself from an early age. I thought that this was something that all young girls were being taught at home.

But now as an Ob/Gyn I am realizing that this is not the case. Now fast forward… my generation- we are now the parents and we are just as scared about how to have these discussions with our children. To make matters worse, our children are now being exposed to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and their misinformed friends as their major source of information. Also, the issues and challenges our children are being faced with now are very different. What worked for us in the past won’t work for them now. Thus, the narrative has to change and hence the birth of “Let’s Talk About It.”
